Taking a Look Around...

There is something about the image above that captures a sense of simplicity, beauty and peace that is difficult to describe in words. I often find these moments of calm sandwiched in the middle of intense, stressful times. Whether or not you believe in God or a higher power, there is something divine in these moments.  These moments find me when I need them most…when I least expect them.

It is so easy to get wrapped up in the daily grind – forgetting that such beauty surrounds us, often overlooked or dismissed as an unnecessary distraction. These moments remind me that peace is all around me. By nature I am “fast-paced”. I thrive in the activity of the day. So, for these moments to show themselves is critical. They keep me grounded. They remind me to slow down and soak up the sun, enjoy the simple things.

During the busiest season of my job, I find solace and encouragement amidst the chaos and craziness of running summer programs, supervising staff and hundreds of kids. I find peace in the moments around me that reveal themselves at JUST the right time. I am grateful for these reminders.

My “little hens” and TBA readers, I challenge you to take some time to see these “moments” around you.  Send me pictures or comments. I’d love to learn more about what kinds of things help you stay grounded and remind you of the power of simplicity and beauty.
